Allan Kennedy, founder of Spark Media and co-author of “Macromedia Flash Super Samurai,” is an award-winning Interactive Producer & developer whose work has been featured in the Communication Arts Annual edition, iTunes store, ID Magazine, Applied Arts Design Annual edition, Strategy Magazine, and the Computer Arts Magazine (UK).
Although Allan’s first career was as a classical ‘cellist, it was through his Doctoral studies at McGill University that Allan first became interested in computer interactions and merging this with live performance. Since then he has developed online experiences for companies such as Nike, CBC, YTV, Bell Canada, MSN, Family Channel, TVO Kids, Toronto University, Teletoon, WCB, DHX Media, Empire Theatres, and Noggin to name a few. He has given numerous presentations, and custom training seminars on digital media throughout Canada and the U.S. for institutions and companies such as University of New York, Memorial University in Nfld, Deloitte and Touche, ICE, and the Government of Canada.
Back at Spark, he oversees all phases of development: developing creative with clients, writing funding applications & developing budgets, art direction and applying his technical and usability knowledge from over a decade and a half of experience to produce interactive games, online content, & apps for clients.
